Collecting National Parks
Many RVers have ways that they chronical their travels. You have probably seen some rigs with maps of the United States and the visited states are marked. I’ve decided to keep track of the national parks that I visit while on my travels.
One fun activity is to keep a National Parks Passport. This book lists all the parks, monuments, and historical sites under the parks service. Every time you visit a park, you get a cancellation stamp in your passport book and add a commemorative sticker for that site. I purchased my passport book and got my first cancellation while I was at my first national park, the Great Smoky Mountains.
Another thing that I’ve decided to do is add a sticker for each nation park that I visit to Rosie. The rear garage door seems to be the perfect location for adding these stickers and it will be a colorful addition as well.
In addition to getting a sticker at each park that I visit, I am also going to get a magnet for each park. I had already installed a couple of magnetic boards inside Rosie with the plan all along to get national park magnets to help decorate my home of wheels. I picked up an alpaca magnet when I stayed at the alpaca farm.
So for every national park that I visit, I will get my passport book stamped, purchase a sticker for Rosie, and get a magnet for my board. It is going to be fun to watch the collection grow over the next few years. I’ll have to post some updates periodically.
