About me

Thank you for visiting my blog!

My name is Chris Rossetti. I grew up in Southern California, lived in Northern California, and most recently made New England my home where I raised my son, Jack. I’m embarking on a multi-year expedition to explore the endless beauty that this country has to offer as well as visit our neighbors to the north in Canada. I’ll be traveling in a 23-foot 2024 Winnebago Ekko named “Rosalita”.

I’ve always been someone who enjoyed the outdoors especially camping, hiking, and visiting the national parks. During the pandemic, I began watching a lot of RV and van life content on YouTube which rekindled my desire to travel and explore all this country has to offer. So as my son headed off to Penn State in the fall of 2023, I decided to sell my condo, sell most of my possessions, and travel by RV full-time.

I’ll be departing New England in the early part of April 2024 to begin my epic journey. I’ve spent a lot of time preparing a route of all the places I want to visit on this expedition. In 2024 alone, I will be visiting approximately 20 states and 16 national parks.

Here is just a glimpse of what I tentatively have planned:

  • April 2024 – Asheville, NC (Biltmore Estate), Great Smoky Mountains National Park (NP), and Pigeon Forge, TN
  • May 2024 – Virginia, Shenandoah NP, Gettysburg, Antietam, western Pennsylvania, central Ohio, and 108th Indianapolis 500.
  • June 2024 – Great Lakes region (Michigan & Wisconsin), Mackinac Island, and Henry Ford Museum.
  • July 2024 – the Dakotas and Wyoming including Theodore Roosevelt NP, Badlands NP, Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Grand Tetons NP, and Yellowstone NP
  • August 2024 – Big Sky Country of Montana and Glacier NP
  • September 2024 – start heading south through Idaho into Utah
  • Fall 2024 – the five national parks of Utah, Monument Valley, and Grand Canyon NP
  • Winter 2025 – Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Nevada
  • Spring/Summer 2025 – head north through Colorado on way to Alberta, Canada to visit Banff and Jasper. Traverse to Dawson Creek, BC to take Trans-Alaskan Highway through British Columbia and Yukon Territory on way to Fairbanks, Alaska.
  • Summer 2025 – plan to spend 4-5 weeks in Alaska before taking a southernly route home through British Columbia and Pacific Northwest.

So that is the epic journey I have mapped out. I hope that you’ll follow along on this blog as I look forward to sharing it with you.
